In observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October), Saving Grace (formerly Central Oregon Battering and Rape Alliance) will provide local businesses and Central Oregon residents with purple ribbons. The Purple Ribbon Campaign is meant to honor victims of domestic violence and to raise awareness around the crime of domestic violence in our communities.
Saving Grace also participates in the Purple Light Nights Campaign, in which residents and businesses shine a purple light to remember victims of domestic violence homicides, celebrate the courage of those who have survived domestic violence, and give hope to those currently living with violence.
Saving Grace provides comprehensive family violence and sexual assault services and promotes the value of living life free from violence. Last year Saving Grace answered 2,090 calls to the hotline, and provided individual crisis services to 1,078 women and children of Central Oregon.
Contact us at 382-9227 for your purple ribbon and wear it proudly throughout the month. You can also visit us at www.saving-grace.org for more information about Domestic Violence and how you can help us to continue providing essential services.
