Shine a Light on Sexual Assault in Prineville - April 9th, 2014
All are welcome for Crook County's 4th annual Shine a Light on Sexual Assault event! This event is made possible by a collaboration with the local law enforcement agencies, fire department, the Crook County District Attorney's office as well as the Family Resource Center.This is a family friendly community event that is meant to bring sexual assault out of the dark in honor of April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The Crook County Domestic Violence Intervention Team presents a parade of lights and gathering at Ochoco Viewpoint where we will use headlights, siren lights and flashlights to shine light down onto the community of Prineville bringing sexual assault out of the dark! There will be light refreshments and short presentation highlighting sexual assault in the Crook County community.
• Every 2 minutes another American is sexually assaulted
• 9/10 victims are female
• 2/3 victims knew their assailant
• 60% of sexual assaults are not reported to the police
