Saving Grace and World Muse Host a Conversation about Domestic Violence

  • Liberty Theater 849 Northwest Wall Street Bend, OR, 97701 United States (map)

Oregon has a problem with violence against women. And it will take the whole community to solve it.

According to the Women’s Foundation of Oregon’s 2016 “Count Her In” report, more than half of Oregon women and girls have experienced domestic or sexual violence. That’s more than 40,000 women and girls in Deschutes County alone.

Saving Grace and World Muse are inviting women and men of all ages to join in conversation about what this violence looks beyond the numbers, and how Central Oregonians can work together to raise awareness and create change.

Learn more about the new report, hear from survivors and advocates, and share ideas for creating communities free from violence.

Before the panel, from 3 to 6 pm, World Muse will be taking photos and statements for its #MuseOnThis awareness campaign about the impacts of sexism. Speak out by sharing your personal perspective on how sexism has affected you, your loved ones, and your community.

Saving Grace provides prevention, crisis, and ongoing support services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Central Oregon and promotes the value of a life without violence.

World Muse inspires women to create positive social change from within. Its mission is to connect women to their own sense of purpose as well as to each other, and to provide the tools and support they need to create positive change in their lives, in their communities, and in the world.
