Hands Can Change the World

  • Madras City Hall 125 SW E St Madras, OR (map)

Hands Can Change the World is a brief ceremony to show your visible expression of commitment to efforts that will prevent and eliminate child abuse and sexual assault.

Community members will gather to listen to speakers, read a pledge in unity, and hold a ribbon together encircling the front of City Hall to show their commitment to putting an end to sexual abuse and child abuse. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month. A variety of events will be held around Central Oregon to bring awareness to sexual assault and child abuse happening within our community.

Throughout the month of April, teal and blue bows will be on the trees lining the streets in downtown Madras and at City Hall. Teal and blue ribbons will also be distributed and available throughout the city for community members to wear in support of sexual assault awareness and child abuse prevention.

The public and media are invited to take part in the “Hands Can Change The World” event. Please meet at noon at the front entrance of the Madras City Hall to join in the event.
