Saving Grace Legacy Guild

The Legacy Guild honors individuals who have established giftplans benefiting Saving Grace.

The Guild was established in honor of the six community volunteers from 1977 that set up a hotline in Bend to answer calls about rape and violence from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am because they believed there was an unmet need in the community. Thirty-three years later, Saving Grace provides over 10,000 services to over 4,000 women and children a year. Help us continue our efforts in the community and make a legacy gift that will provide for generations to come.

Common Types of Legacy Gifts

Gifts by will or revocable living trust may be for a specific dollar amount, a percentage of the total estate or the residual amount remaining after all debts, taxes, expenses, and other bequests have been paid.

Beneficiary Designations

Naming Saving Grace as a beneficiary of retirement plans and deferred annuities allows you access to the funds during life and provides a probate-free transfer of assets to Saving Grace. This type of estate gift can avoid both the income and estate taxes that would otherwise be owed on the asset.

Life Insurance

Policies that are no longer needed for family protection or business purposes make excellent charitable gifts, regardless of whether or not all of the premiums have been paid. When you transfer ownership of the policy to Saving Grace, the cash value of the policy is a tax deductible gift, as are all future premium payments. By establishing a new life insurance policy specifically for Saving Grace, you can make a substantial gift for a relatively modest annual outlay.

The Benefits are Many

By becoming a part of the Saving Grace Legacy Guild, you will enjoy the deep personal satisfaction of helping assure that the Saving Grace Shelter and it’s programs remain a warm and welcoming safe haven for women and children fleeing domestic violence and sexual assault. Please let us know that you have included Saving Grace in your estate plan by contacting Saving Grace at 541-382-9227. If you wish to keep your plans confidential, we are happy to accommodate your request. Thank you.
