Mary’s Place Post-Separation Advocate

Saving Grace seeks a full-time (35 per week) advocate to provide trauma-informed support for parent survivors of intimate partner violence, stalking, and/or sexual assault who are involved with Mary’s Place Supervised Visitation & Safe Exchange program. The Mary’s Place advocate provides a wide range of services including safety planning, crisis counseling and ongoing assistance with civil legal matters, case coordination, help with basic needs and referrals to community partners and other services of Saving Grace.

The following strengths are needed to be successful in the role of Mary’s Place Advocate: ability to work independently as well as with a team, self-starter, flexible, non-judgmental and open-minded, highly organized, able to maintain confidentiality, sense of humor, ability to practice self care and maintain healthy boundaries while working with individuals in crisis.

One to two years working with domestic violence, social services or a related field and bachelor’s degree or any combination of work/life experience relevant to the work will be considered. Understanding of social justice and experience working effectively with underserved and marginalized populations needed. Prior experience with civil legal/court systems preferred. Bi-lingual (Spanish) desirable but not required.

Supervised Visit/Exchange Facilitator

Mary’s Place supervised visitation and safe exchange program seeks facilitator to supervise visits and safe exchanges for families impacted by domestic violence. This position is 20 hours per week. Shifts required for this position are Saturdays and  Sundays with a mandatory Monday afternoon staff meeting.  

We need flexible, quick-thinking, mature and compassionate team players with a sense of humor who can work respectfully with diverse and underserved populations.  Prior experience serving at-risk families and understanding the impact of trauma on adults and children needed. Bi-lingual (Spanish) very desirable. Our outstanding staff includes people from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.

Compensation $16.00 per hour or $16.80 for bi-lingual (Spanish). The 20 hour position includes medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, 10 paid holidays and generous paid time off policy.  The on-call position includes Employee Assistance Program as well as pro-rated sick leave/time off compensation in accordance with Oregon law.

On-Call Supervised Visit/Exchange Facilitator

An additional on-call, non-benefited position (5-10 hrs per week) is available. On-call position must be able to work weekends and must attend Monday staff meeting.
